Re-signs with Los Angeles

The Chargers re-signed Stick on Friday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Analysis: The North Dakota State product is now in line to remain in Los Angeles after agreeing to a new deal with the Chargers. Stick appeared in five games (four starts) for the Chargers in 2023, throwing for 1,129 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. He's expected to remain a serviceable backup quarterback option if Justin Herbert were to go down in 2024.

Underwhelming in season finale

Stick completed 28 of 47 passes for 258 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 13-12 loss to the Chiefs. He rushed the ball 13 times for 77 yards and also lost a fumble.

Analysis: Stick drew his fourth consecutive start with Justin Herbert (finger) sidelined. Despite taking to the air 47 times, he put up a relatively modest yardage total while averaging just 5.5 yards per attempt. Stick completed 24 of 38 pass attempts for 220 yards and rushed for 31 yards on five attempts in Sunday's 16-9 loss to the Broncos.

Analysis: Stick corrected his turnover issues from last week's loss to the Bills, but it came with the price of scoring no offensive touchdowns against the Broncos on Sunday. It was the second time in three starts that the longtime backup failed to produce either a passing or rushing touchdown. That fact coupled with a tough matchup against the Chiefs on the docket make Stick a low-end fantasy option for Week 18.

Scores rushing TD in narrow loss

Stick completed 23 of 33 pass attempts for 210 yards while adding 25 rushing yards and a touchdown on seven carries in Saturday's 24-22 loss to Buffalo.

Analysis: Stick's stat line was highly deceptive when taken in the context of the Chargers' 42-point loss, with the first-time starter piling up a bulk of his numbers when the game was already well out of reach.
